International Lithium Association (ILiA) is delighted to announce that Jean Ough (오성진) has joined the team in the new role of South Korea Representative Director. Jean, who was previously Trade Commissioner of Government of Western Australia office in South Korea for 12 years, specializes in advocating and promoting foreign corporations and organisations to government, business, industry, and community representatives in South Korea. He is currently consulting for various Australian companies in the EV battery material and renewable energy industries.
Jean is a co-founder of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea and has been a Board of Director and served as the Treasurer at the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (2009-2020). He has a Bachelor of Business degree from Curtin University in Western Australia and a Master of Business degree from Yonsei University, Korea. He speaks Korean, English, and Chinese (Mandarin).
Jean’s role is to act as ILiA’s representative in South Korea, which includes participating in relevant events and meetings, acting as ILiA’s Korean language first point of contact and representing the Association where appropriate. His first assignment will be to represent ILiA at the Asia INTL Li-ion Battery Recycling Summit 2022 that will be held in Incheon, Korea from November 15th to 17th, 2022.
