The International Lithium Association (ILiA) has been confirmed as an official observer to the ISO Technical Committee for lithium, ISO/TC 333. This appointment reflects the Association’s growing international standing and enables ILiA to represent the lithium industry in the development of standards that underpin an open and transparent global market for high quality and sustainably produced lithium.
The scope of the ISO TC 333 committee covers standardization in the field of lithium mining, concentration, extraction, separation and conversion to useful lithium compounds/materials (including oxides, salts, metals, master alloys, lithium-ion battery materials, etc.) The work programme includes terminology, technical conditions of delivery to overcome transport difficulties, unified testing and analysis methods to improve the general quality of lithium products.
The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 167 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
